Dulwich College Suzhou Proudly Hosting University Fair

DCSZ successfully hosted the 2023 Suzhou University Fair this afternoon. Over 110 universities from the world gathered on our campus and hundreds of students and parents came to attend the event.
Students and parents actively engaged with the representatives of universities coming from Europe and UK, US, Asia and Oceania as well as Canada. This has been the first university fair event at this level hosted by DCSZ since 2019.

Participating in the university fair is important, but following up after attending it is even more important. What should students do to follow up after the fair? Mr Hyuk Sang Son, Director of Conselling from DCSZ provides valuable ideas and tips for students on how to follow up.
After this university fair, what should students do to follow up?
When students participate in a fair, it is beneficial to prepare some questions and conduct research beforehand. While engaging with the admission officers at the fair, it is advisable to try to obtain their contact information, such as their name and email address.
After the fair, it is important to send an email to the admission officer promptly. In the email, remember to introduce yourself, provide your basic profile, express appreciation for their time at the fair, and ask specific questions to demonstrate your genuine interest. This is particularly vital for universities in the United States, as it lets the admission officer know that you have a genuine interest in their institution.
Furthermore, you can search online to follow the school's social media accounts such as Facebook, Instagram, and other social networking sites. It is a good idea to check regularly to see if the universities have any upcoming sessions that you are interested in attending.
What if students don't have the opportunity to meet the admission officer in person at the fair? Don't worry, you can scan the following code to find out more information about the university fair including their contact details:

What should parents do to support their children?
During the fair, parents can ask any questions they want to know. For the admission part, they can inquire about prerequisites, required tests, and deadlines.
After the fair, parents can have a conversation with their children to understand their preferences and determine which universities they are interested in and what they truly like. It is possible that there may be some differences of opinion during these conversations. To assist our parents in providing better support to their children, we will organize a session to address these topics and provide guidance at the end of October.

What will DCSZ do to help our students apply for university after this fair?
We will assist students in personalizing their needs and provide support in various areas, including choosing courses, writing recommendation letters, and more. In addition to that, as mentioned earlier, we will organize a session to help parents provide the best support for their children, specifically in terms of university selection at the end of October.
During this session, we will address important questions, such as university rankings, what does ranking actually mean, and how can parents support their children to choose the best-fit university. Please watch out for our notices soon.
