English Acceleration Programme at Dulwich College Suzhou

Are you looking for an English language programme to accelerate your child towards academic excellence? If so, then read more about Junior School’s new English Acceleration Programme (EAP). 

Our new English Acceleration Programme is for academically able students who excel in all areas of the curriculum, but their English language proficiency hinders their progress in their learning.

What is the English Acceleration Programme?

This is a 10 month exclusive programme designed for students in Years 3, 4 and 5 in Junior School. It will be a mixed age programme in which students will take part in regular classes such as PE, Art, Music, but will be exposed to a rigorous English proficiency course, allowing students to engage, understand and interact with regular Junior School lessons in the future.

Application Process

All applicants will:

•            be assessed on their academic capability

•            have a home language assessment

•            have an interview with a member of our Junior School Leadership team

•            Have a WIDA test to assess English language proficiency

Upon completion of this programme, students will be assessed on their English language to determine their pathway and next steps. Please note that students cannot repeat this programme, and if insufficient progress is made, students may not be admitted into the mainstream classes in the next academic year.
